Argument paper essays are written essays which use different argumentative devices in order to persuade the reader. The most common argument used in argument papers is the pros and cons system. It basically consists of two different sets of words, with the second one containing a statement, a fact or a suggestion which may seem counter-intuitive to the argument at hand. However, if you're to write an argument paper essay which is not convincing, this idea won't work.

 

Fact-based essays deal with facts rather than the opinions of the writer. You have to find the truth in a certain topic or case. These types of essays are often more successful because it doesn't matter who the audience is. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if it's not widely accepted. Fact-based arguments tend to be short and quite formal in nature.

 

Because argument paper topics come from a wider variety of subject areas, they are more varied and complex than facts. However, they also require a good deal of research.
